History
Rancho Don Juan Forster, an English-born Mexican ranchero, bought Mission Viejo. Forster supplied new horses to US military forces during the Mexican–American War, which were utilized on the march of San Diego to conquer Los Angeles.
PARKS & FACILITIES
The City of Mission Viejo’s Park Recreation and Community Services Department currently operates eight recreation and community center facilities, 53 parks and trails totaling 800 acres of natural open space, and a dog park.
